Chocobo Knights Mission Statement!

Welcome to the Chocobo Knights <CK> free company website! Founded back on May 15th, 2007 in Final Fantasy XI on the Odin server. Through the years, this band of misfits have managed to stick together under the pretense of having fun and taking a more relaxed and colorful approach to the MMO gaming community. These days, we find ourselves immersed in Eorzea, testing the limits, and at times our sanity, while welcoming adventurers, new and old, to our ranks!

In terms of content, we have a relaxing and more carefree approach, with no formal static associated with the free company. Our focus is to meet new people, progress through story-line content, as well as some of the more less stressful raids. We’re accommodating to both European and North American players, and host different events on the weekends that range from, but not limited to, progression, farms and map runs.

We strive to offer a safe, fun and comfortable environment to all members who enjoy mid-ranged content, and that share our ideals, while offering a chance to meet personal goals and endeavors that each individual member may or may not have. Code of Conduct

What values do we uphold? Well it’s quite simple! The following guideline is what we seek to reflect as a whole in the free company, regardless of rank or social standing.

  • Absolutely zero drama! This will not be tolerated, period. We all have bad days or disagreements with people, however, we expect members to handle these as maturely as possible. If you have any issues which you cannot resolve, please feel free to speak to an officer or leader via tell, or in private on Discord. Under no circumstances is it acceptable to be in public venues.
  • Open door policy! If you have any issues, concerns or suggestions, please feel free to speak to mods/officers/leaders about it! We have an unbiased approach to all of our members no matter their station, and value everybody and their opinions, because without you, we wouldn’t have a free company!
  • Be respectful! A ‘do unto others’ philosophy, we promote tolerance, patience and seek to be inclusive of players from all walks of life.
  • Be involved! Events and random daily roulette adventures are the hub of our existence! These can only succeed with the assistance of you, and whilst we appreciate people cannot always attend, we would hope, where possible, you consider joining in. Not just to help, but also make new friends in the process!

General Recruitment Policy

For your introduction period, you will be placed in the ‘Squire’ rank, which is specifically for new recruit additions. This period lasts for a month (30 days), and has very little access while we get to know you a little better, and while you do the same. For more information about what this rank and the others entail, please click here.

During this period, you’re free to spend time within the free company and get to know its members. We encourage you to speak up, be involved in events, and gain an understanding for what we embody so that you can make the decision on whether or not you’ll fit in to the fullest. However, we do frown on those that are content on sitting back and reaping the benefits the free company offers, or give us the overall impression that our good nature is being taken advantage of. If you are looking to join us, we hope it is because you want to be part of a close and friendly group of people and make new friends on our joint adventures.

If, during this period we feel that you are not a good fit, either through drama or behavior, you may be asked to leave. This will only be undertaken if we, the moderators up to leaders, believe that this may not be the best home for you, or that your continued membership within the free company would cause challenges or drama which would damage the social fabric of the community. If this should be the case, we will discuss this with you beforehand and make you aware of this decision, giving you a chance to appeal if you feel that your case if being misrepresented or misunderstood.

At the end of the month trial, a moderator, officer or leader will meet with you and discuss your time with us and take the opportunity to answer any unresolved questions you may have. If at this stage you feel that the free company is not the best place for you, then we would support your decision, whatever the circumstance. However, if you felt at home within the free company and the feeling is mutual with the mod/officer/leader, you will be fully inducted into the free company.
